CASA GRANDE, Arizona
It's expected to bring close to 8,000 jobs to
Arizona. The company is called PhoenixMart and their new plant is
breaking ground south of the valley in Casa Grande.
Palm trees lining streets, reflecting pools all around -- and even hot air balloon decor were seen in a promotional video showing what could be in store for Casa Grande once PhoenixMart is up and running.
"PhoenixMart is a 21st century global commerce center and it connects us and North American manufactures and distributors to domestic and global buyers," said PhoenixMart President Jeremy Schoenfelder.
Think of it was a permanent trade show, but this one features about 2,000 businesses. Industries ranging from home and hotel to electronics, fashion and food.
When it's built, it will be able to fit seven football fields inside.
For example, a hotel builder could look to PhoenixMart as a one-stop-shop for constructing and furnishing the final product, but what does it all mean for the local community?
"The biggest thing we believe is job opportunity. We are bringing a significant number of jobs," said Schoenfelder.
About 10,000 jobs -- the majority pulling from the local workforce.
"It's been a good, long road with a lot of moving parts and we are really excited to get launched," said Schoenfelder.
PhoenixMart is expected to open late next year or early 2015.
