PhoenixMart - Revolutionizing Wholesale Distribution - Casa Grande, AZ | PhoenixMart Construction Update

PhoenixMart - Revolutionizing Wholesale Distribution - Casa Grande, AZ | PhoenixMart Construction Update

At the Board of Adjustment Meeting on March 11th, the PhoenixMart entrance temporary use permit was reviewed and approved.  Horizontal construction work will start including site grading, entrance work and
the CMAR portion of the infrastructure by the end of May.

The CMAR selection process is in the final stage of selection.  The company and the city have jointly identified the top three best scored companies. Upon final selection, onsite street and utilities
construction will begin in second quarter of 2014.

PhoenixMart continues to work with the City on the building fire model code to ensure the safety and efficiency of the building use. Because of the grand size and complexity of the building and its
business model concept, the City has hired their own fire model consultant to speed up the process.

AZ Sourcing, as the developer of the entire 585 acre site, has named it the North American Logistic, Trade and E-commerce City (NALTEC). As a next-step support phase for PhoenixMart, AZ Sourcing has prepared a business plan and the initial architectural designs for a proposed hotel and a Soho concept “work and stay” condominium project.

PhoenixMart and AZ Sourcing also plan to take advantage of the I-10 highway front visibility as a display opportunity for its PhoenixMart tenants and our local Casa Grande businesses and activities. As the
owner of the Tanger Outlet Mall, the company is building a Welcome/Sales center with an estimated completion date in the end of May 2014. In addition to mock-up suites for future PhoenixMart tenants, the center will also include space for the Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce as a satellite office to jointly promote PhoenixMart and our local businesses.

Identity Theft: Protect Your Financial Future

Identity Theft: Protect Your Financial Future

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) estimates that as many as 9-10 millionAmericans have their identities stolen each year. This means that you or someone you know may have been victimized by some form of identity theft in the past or will likely experience some form of this crime in the future.

Identity theft occurs when personal information, such as your Social Security number or credit card numbers, are used without your permission to make purchases, obtain a credit card or other account in your name.

Identity theft costs the average victim nearly $4,000. And, in addition to the dollar cost, it takes average victims as much as 175 hours of personal time and effort to fix the
damage and repair their credit. This does not include any potential increases in interest rates from creditors and insurance companies, where the financial impact can be even more dramatic, especially if the theft is left undetected. According to the FTC, it takes an average of 12-24 months for most consumers to even notice that a problem exists.
And by then, it's too late. How can you protect yourself from the dangers of identity theft? Here are some suggestions.

Don't Give It Away!

Avoid falling prey to what are known as phishing scams, both over the phone and through email. In a phishing scam, identity thieves pretend to be someone from your bank or credit institutions and simply ask you for your personal information. If someone contacts you and requests any personal information, don't give it to them. A financial institution or
large company will rarely use email to obtain this kind of information. In fact, your bank and your creditors already have your information from when you originally opened the account. Verify who is requesting the data and why, and then call the institution yourself. One extra phone call could save you a lot of money and aggravation.

Stay off the Pharm!

While phishing enables thieves to pilfer information from you, pharming is another kind of scam that takes the deception to the next level. Pharming is the process of hijacking your computer and stealing your personal information. A pharming site is designed to look just like the site you're trying to visit. However, enter your information on this
fake site and not only can the site track your moves within it, it may also direct your computer to give up other personal information at a later time.

Be sure you are visiting the correct site, that the address is correct in the toolbar. Never enter a site through a pop-up advertisement window, and always be cautious before you sign in to any site. Often on these fake sites, you'll find unusual graphics, colors,
or misspelled words - telltale signs that someone is trying to pharm your information.

Opt-out of Special Offers!
Visit www.optoutprescreen.com
to cut down on the pre-approved offers from credit card and insurance companies that come in the mail. A lot of identity thieves do things the old-fashioned way: they rummage through your trash and collect your information. Be sure to shred any documents that contain your personal information before you throw it away.

Conduct a Credit Check-up!
Visit www.annualcreditreport.com
to obtain a free credit report every 12 months. Review all three of your credit reports and look for any suspicious activity, unusual or inaccurate names or addresses, or any inquiries that were done without your knowledge. If you even suspect that your identity may have been stolen or compromised, call us right away. We'll pull your credit and
review it together.

Light Bulb Buying Guide

Standard 40, 60,
75 and 100 watt incandescent bulbs can no longer be sold. CNET says, " With all of the new options out there (not to mention the disappearance of some important old ones), finding the perfect bulb can seem pretty daunting. New lights that promise to last 20 years and save you hundreds
of dollars might sound good in theory, but how do you know which one is the right one for you? How do you know the bulb you're buying is going to be bright enough? And what if you're just not ready to say goodbye to your incandescents?”  Fear not, because they've got you covered with a handy guide that's chock-full of all the information you'll need to make sure that your next light bulb is the right bulb.

Bob Vila's Essential Toolbox

Home Improvement and DIY guru Bob Vila says," Whether you’re a rookie handyman or a
seasoned do-it-yourselfer, a range of basic tools is essential to doing the small jobs around the house… What tools will you need? Your skills and the kinds of jobs you do must be your guide, but a good basic selection would include a tape measure, square, and torpedo level for measuring and setting. A handsaw or handheld circular saw; a utility knife; a cordless drill; and maybe a glass cutter will take care of your cutting and drilling tasks. For fastening, how about a small set of screwdrivers; a staple gun; pairs of electrician’s, waterpump, and locking pliers; and a hammer?" See the article.

Install an Electrical Outlet with Built-in USB Ports
To a reader's question about installing electrical outlets with built-in USB charging ports, Popular Mechanics replied, "These receptacles are great—they eliminate the need for bulky USB
adapters that hog valuable outlet space. They are especially useful by the bed, where many of us stash all kinds of USB-equipped devices, such as phones, tablets, and e-readers. That stuff competes for space on a standard duplex outlet that may already be serving a desk lamp or a
clock. But to answer your question: Yes, USB receptacles are fairly easy to install, but there are a few things you should know before you switch off the breaker and remove your old outlet."

May – Late Spring Maintenance Checklist

The Homeowner and Trades Resource Center (HTRC) says, "May is quite an interesting
month. It seems to be a month of first’s and last’s; the last full month of spring, the last day of school, the first of many holidays, the first start to summer vacations, the first gripes on it being to hot,
and the list goes on. For most of us, we managed to survive the dreaded interior “Spring Cleaning,” the kids are now whining about having to mow the grass almost every weekend, the gardens have been planted, and the pollen is finally starting to slack off, and it’s time to fire up the BBQ." HTRC offers a dated (2010) but  comprehensive May Homeowner Maintenance Checklist and the Exterior Spring Cleaning Guide.

NEWS

National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) 2014 Spring Construction Forecast

On April 24, 2014 NAHB said, “A growing economy, pent-up demand, competitive mortgage rates and affordable home prices will keep housing on an upward trajectory through 2015. However, several obstacles including tight consumer credit, shortages of lots and labor and rising materials prices are hindering a more robust recovery, according to economists who participated in yesterday’s National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) 2014 Spring Construction Forecast Webinar. “Housing needs an improved economy,” said NAHB Chief Economist David Crowe, adding that the economy is expected to respond as payroll employment continues to grow and the unemployment rate slowly recedes from 6.7 percent in the first quarter of this year to 6.2 percent by the fourth quarter of 2015. Consumer confidence is back to pre-recession levels and the purchase of motor vehicles and home furnishings are on the rise, indicating that consumers are increasingly
willing to buy big ticket items such as houses."

CG Board Approves PhoenixMart Entryway

CG board Approves PhoenixMart Entryway

trivalleycentral.com: Area News

Developers starting to advance project pieces for location

Posted: Thursday, March 13, 2014 10:16 am

Little by little, the pieces of PhoenixMart could soon start falling into place.

The Casa Grande Board of Adjustment on Tuesday approved a temporary use permit that allows PhoenixMart developers to install signs and landscaping on 7 acres of the proposed gateway into the sourcing center.

Once work on the entryway begins, other projects will follow, PhoenixMart Project Manager Brad Holyoak told the Board of Adjustment members.
“Our goal is that work will continuously be happening on site until the project is complete next year,” he said.
While a building permit application will not be submitted to the city until May, Holyoak said developers are eager to begin smaller projects.
Developing the entryway first made sense as it pinpoints the site location, he said.
“We are excited to show progress, to identify where our site is and make it attractive to the public and investors,” Holyoak said.
